Report from Malaysian Society for Engineering and Technology (MySET)
Sepang July 19. A special event on the Registration of License Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with BEM was successfully held at the Cafe Hangar 6, Malaysia Airlines Berhad in Sepang.
The event was organised by the Association of Malaysia Airlines Licensed Aircraft Engineers (AMALAE). 70 new registrations were successfully handed to BEM representatives. There are also 8 registration forms flown by MH pilot from Kota Kinabalu for this special occasion.
Ts Ramesh VP of AMALAE highlighted that this is the second batch of registration by AMALAE with BEM after successfully registering 144 LAEs as Engineering Technologist and Graduate Engineer with BEM in the first batch early this year.
The event was officiated by Mr Eke Nazri, Head of Engineering MAB. “The community of LAEs were very grateful and honoured on the recognition given by BEM,” said Mr Nazri.
This is followed by a talk on Introduction to BEM’s Roles & Responsibility’s as well as the importance of registration for engineering practices by the Executive Director of BEM, Ir Noramil.
The Registration of LAE with the BEM and Introduction to MySET presentation were delivered by Ir Assoc Prof Ts Dr Abd Rahim Abu Talib, VP of MySET.
“Since May 2018, BEM has already accepted the registration of LAE CAT B without type rating as Engineering Technician, LAE CAT B with type rating as Engineering Technologist and LAE CAT C as Graduate Engineer,” said Dr Rahim.
The event was also attended by Assoc Prof Ts Dr Tinia Idaty Sec Gen MySET, Assoc Prof Ts Dr Harlisya Harun and Ts Ricky Liew, MySET Council members.
